[Day 010] The desperate day

Today, after very tiring day at work, i am getting desperate for another shot. I have vow to take at least a picture  a day with this project. At 21:00 I still have no idea what to shot. Browsing my DVD collection suddenly it hit me "why not take a picture of my DVD collection"  So as I am setting up the camera and positioning the speedlite, I dropped my key. Since i have not yet have idea how to position my DVD, I guess just take a picture of key. So here's what I came up with. Quite bland and distasteful, I know.

[Day 009] The new filter day

Yesterday 08 Jan 2011, I was introduce to a new filter called ND8. This filter is to limit overall light from entering lens. It's best to use for landscape photography. Since I am scheduled to join a landscape outing on 15 Jan 2011, I went on and buy this ND8 filter. Back home I test the new filter on my 50mm. Here's what I came up with. Apparently love is still my theme.

[Day 008] The catch up day.

Today I am back at University Technology of Malaysia. Purpose to catch up with my ex classmate. After fetching her at her hostel, the famous K9 (pronounce as Canine), we went for a drink at Starbucks. Since she is a regular customer and have some sort of loyalty card. Since she already filled the card, the store reward her with a gift. Coincidently I already have my camera ready, (since I am trying to discipline myself to take at least a photo a day) so here's what i came up with. The only draw back is that I shoot this in Auto mode.

[Day 007] The on the road day

As I am working at Batu Pahat now, I usually drive home to Johor Bahru every weekend. The fastest way (depend on your driving styles though) to Johor Bahru from my workplace is ADTEC-Senggarang-Rengit-Benut-Ayer Baloi- FELDA Bukit Batu-Sedenak Toll-and Skudai Toll. The stretch Ayer Baloi- FELDA Bukit Batu I nickname them as The Horror Road since it involve a combination of uneven pavement, multiple bumper and potholes. But since it goes through pineapple plantation and shadows of Gunung Pulai, It is without doubt the best scenery in Malaysia I've ever seen. Unfortunately only today I realize that I suck at landscape photography. So here's what I came up with:

[Day 006] The experiment day

Today i am experimenting with color cast. Since Love is associated with red so I cover my speedlite with red cloth. The result is perfect red on my subject. But since it was too red I then decided to tone down the picture saturation and bump up red luminance. I plan to have a subtle red in the picture. And here's what I come up with.

Today i have mental block on what to capture. I can't go outside as it is raining. So I am stuck in my bed again. I look around and saw a 50 cent coin.

I am suppose to be working today. But since I already apply for leave I am not going anywhere. With nothing to do and I just resting in my "bunker", I come up with this. A misbaha hanged at my rear view mirror.

[Day 001] Dawn of new day

Greetings everyone.

Happy New Year. 

This year I am going to start on project 365. So what is project 365? One of my best friend thought it is a project of finding my future wife in 365 days. Well she's got that totally wrong. Project 365 is actually a photography project where I am suppose to take the best picture of the day and post it to internet.

The only fear I have in this project is that I don't have the discipline to finish it. But let see how far i can go. So to start up.. Here's a picture of "sunset". It was taken at Pantai Minyak Beku, Batu Pahat, Malaysia. I was hoping to capture sunset.. but i was a cloudy day. Too bad. I might come again.
